I had dinner at the bar last night at Quality Meats. First of all the decor is awesome, stop by and have a drink just to take a look at it. It was done by the same group that designed Public. I walked in and was immediately greeted by the host staff who informed me that I could indeed have dinner at the bar. I saw that the bar was full and thought I was going to have to wait. The very sweet bartender quickly told me that there was a barstool someone had moved that I could use. The menu looked great but I asked the bartender to order for me, I often do this when dining alone. She ordered me the corn chowder that was amazing with the bread that is baked to every order, probably the best I've had in NYC. The succulent steak I had (I forget which cut it was) came covered in blackberries that I thought was a bit odd but was singing with flavor. I was too full for dessert but took a pint of cookies and cream ice cream home, delicious. The very best part of the entire experience was the service. I felt like I was already a regular. The girls behind the bar were great, very attentive, personable, and professional. I will definitely be back very soon.
