I have an upcoming trip end of October to Tokyo and Kyoto. I have already made several reservations and booked about half of my meals including all the sushi ones I want to go to (so many are booked out - I guess it is the Rugby world cup so extra busy!). Thanks for all the chowhounders that have contributed to the forum as I've picked up so many tips along the way just lurking!
I am keeping some free for casual udon and ramen meals like Shin Udon, Ichiran etc.
However I'd like to have a really good beef meal - would you recommend this in Tokyo or Kyoto and where would you recommend that I haven't left too late to book? I really like the look of Ginza Kokoro in Tokyo, and have heard Hyoto Kyoto highly recommended. Cost is not particularly an issue although I start to feel slightly ill above 35k yen.
So far my itinerary is as follows:
Wed lunch - Kyubey
Wed dinner - free
Thurs lunch - Ryusuke
Thurs dinner - free
Fri lunch - free
Fri dinner - Takumi Shingo
Sat lunch - currently free but going to try and book Ginza Iwa when it opens for booking for October
[I then move to Yokohama for the two semi finals]
Mon dinner - free
Tues lunch - Tempura Matsu
Tues dinner - free
Wed - all free
