I came across an article in an Oriental publication this weekend that features ' Mochizuki Japanese Fine Dining & Rotating Sushi Bar on 655 Bay Street, Unit 5. For $195 a person , they offer a 6 course tasting menu with the first 3 courses featuring 'Grade A5 100% Japanese Wagyu Beef' ( Cerificate of authenticity posted ).The first two courses include a beef sashimi serve over ice since beef with such marbling will melt around 24-24C. Another course involve a personal hebachi for grilling the beef. The hebachi approach also applies to the 4th course which involve grilling a whole scallop in the shell over the fire. Fifth and sixth course involve a whole lobster. The tail section is used to make sushi whilst the rest is used for a Japanese style lobster bisque. Tasting menu starts on 1 December and is limited to only 5 per day!!!
If by chance any Chowhound has savour this experience, please kindly provide feed back. If its really that good, won't mind dishing out the money for this unique meal!!
