Vittoria has been open for only 10 days in the former location of Pigalle and has already attracted a waiting line for the as close to authentic southern Italian cuisine. We shared a flavorful Melanzane e Bufala, marinated white eggplant with fresh cherry tomatoes and basil topped with import mozzarella di Bufala. Our main entree was a filetto di Branzino al forma, terracotta baked filet of imported Mediterranean bass with fregola pasta flavored with a marriage of cherry tomatoes, Gaeta olive and Pantelleria capers. The fish was served hot direct from the oven as any good baked dish should be served The bill for two was $70 including a small bottle of a light white Greo du Tufo. The only down side: the butter was not the Italian Giglio, but they will be having their own tapanade staring next week. The service was attentive.
