We are a group of 4 coming from Seattle and Toronto during Christmas Eve and Christmas. I am very sad that most of the restaurants on my "to try" list are closed but I still hope to enjoy some great food while we are here. I would love some ideas or feedback. To give some context, we will be headed down the coast through Monterey, Carmel and then to LA after SF.
Christmas Day lunch will likely be dim sum (Dragon Beaux?). Dinner will probably default to some sort of Chinese food unless there are other suggestions? I am not sure if Jai Yun is open on Christmas but the concept sounds interesting. I haven't seen any recent reviews for Jai Yun - is it still recommended?
Christmas Eve breakfast/lunch will likely be at the Ferry Building (Hog Island Oyster). Christmas Eve dinner is what I am really struggling with right now. I have read the lists from Eater as well as OpenTable but I have not heard much about most of the restaurants on the list so any suggestions would be great. I am looking for somewhat inventive or unique cuisine, if possible.
