I'm willing to drive a bit if necessary, but I'd love some recommendations for relatively inexpensive restaurants in the South Bay, especially ones with reasonably authentic ethnic cuisines. I grew up down here, but didn't really discover the wonders of food exploration until I moved to San Francisco after college, so I could really use some advice.
I'm especially interested in cuisines that are generally considered superior in the LA area than in the SF bay area - Korean, for instance, might be a good example, although I'm sure there are many others.
