A Visit to Santa Cruz' Mexican Outdoor Market

Nathan P. | Aug 13, 2005 05:02 PM

Visited the fleamarket today and thought I would pass on to local hounds that there are many vendors of produce with a focus on Mexican food items here.

I only bought some smoked dried serranos (whose name I ahve forgotten) and some dried purple corn but there were many other items of interest.

Fresh chiles: thai, serrano, jalapeno, anaheim, poblano, plus 3 or 4 others I did not recognize. Limas and cheap limes, dried chiles, dried beans, plantains, nopales, jamaica, epazote and I am sure other good stuff I missed.

Sat entrance fee was $1.50. There was a fair amount of cast iron though I did not check prices.
