Recent visit to Boneyard Bistro

My sister is babysitting my old, incontinent medication-needing dog whilst we are in SF this coming weekend (Anchor Party! Beerapalooza!), so last Saturday, we took both her and my Bro in Law to Boneyard Bistro to thank them.

It was, as usual, AMAZING!

There are a few new menu items.

We started with a new appetizer, hummus and falafel. The hummos ws darn good, topped with what seemed to be a few shreds of BB. The falarel were perfect. Right out of the oil, crisp and brown, fluffy and delicious inside, slightly green with a little herbal goodnes. The flatbread was puffy and good. You got a heap of hummus and three falafel and three pieces of flatbread in the app. My only want is more flatbread! At least four, or maybe a basket on the side. Also, a few fresh cucumber slices would also be nice. I could see the same dish with served with a basket of the fglatbread, a few more falafel and a slightly bigger dollop of hummus topped witha whoel wad of your choice of BBQ as being a main. That would be good! It ain't yet, but I'm gonna reccomend it.

My BIL ordered the 50/50 rib plate with I think baby back and beef. He was happy. He had the mac n cheese and beans. My BIL is a bit odd. Whenever I take him out, he always orders something he's bound to not like. Not because it's bad food. No, he orders something he never eats due to fikle food prefs. One time, he ordered beer and cheese soup someplace, and he was really mad it tasted like beer, since he doesn't frink any alcohol. What did he expect? This time, my beloved BIL ordered a side of baked beans. He hates beans. He NEVER eats beans. He REFUSES beans anytime else. So why did he order them?

HE also ordered the special Sheppard's pie to go. He was given a HUGE paltic container packed full of delectible looking beef, lamb and more, topped with cheese and potatoes and with sweet onions and stuff. Now, I'm a little mad about his manners. One does not go out to a dinner paid by someone else and order food for a later meal to be put on the tab. That's just so obnviously taking advantage of generosity!

My sister had the tabndoori lamb special, with two creamy cool labneh or similar sides. I had a taste. It was perfectly cooked, slightly sweet with pommegranite and just fall of the bone tender!

My Husband satisfied his hunger with a plate of brisket, which just needed no knife it was so perfect.

Me, I had my favorite BBQ burrito done my way. I ask them to do it with all beans instead of meat or the mushroom. Beans, lettuce, cheese, cream, guac, more cheese...yum! I love those beans!

As usual, the mini corn muffins were heavenly.

The best beer menu in the Valley didn't let us down. I had a Florisgaarden apple ale, yum!

My husband tasted the allegash Quad mild- With his dinner, well, I forget what he had then, I was absorbed with my burrito!

We split theTroubador Obscura mild Stout, really good and not too hoppy!

We were all way too full for desert! My burrito defeated my this time, my husband took some brisket home to make a sandwich with for lunch later, and my Borther in Law left, smugly, with his fee Sheppard's pie, of whcih he was givne enough to eat for about three or four more meals!

Once again, Aaron, who was gliding about the room checking up on everyone and eagerly chatting al things beer and BBQ, delivered a FANTASTIC dinner.

I really want to go back for Sunday brunch soon. I hear they have nachos on the menu. Hmmmm, all bean nachos? Yum!

Also, I wanna try to get them to do a BBQ version of "beans on toast"- a brit fave. A bowl of beans, a stack of bruscetta, what can go wrong?
