Old Virginia Restaurant - S. Pasadena

TD Smith | Aug 13, 201003:28 PM     1

On a whim today (8/13/10), I wondered if anyone else remembered the Old Virginia and got your website. It was started by Don S. (I think) but it was from 2004 and the link was no longer active. I remember it well (since I was pretty young, remembering back then is easy, can't remember what I have for lunch yesterday).
My mother worked there for a few years back in the early-70s. I used to fall asleep in those big booths at the bar waiting for her to get off work (can't do that in today's world). My sister and I still laugh about the time she mistook the liver pate for chcolate ice cream and packed a huge chunk in her mouth and my mother wouldn't allow her to spit it out. We laughed so hard, but had to be quiet since it was an "adult" restaurant.
Mr. Paul, the owner, was very nice to us. I still remember the other hostesses since they were somewhat friends with my mom.
Mr. Paul went on to open "Chez Paul" in LA somewhere. Went a couple times but can't remember where it is.
There's more if anyone out there is still interested in this old landmark.
