Vinhos Oscar Quevedo 30-year-old White Port

Melanie Wong | May 21, 201611:44 PM

At last week's Port and Douro Wines Institute (IVDP) tasting in San Francisco, one of the most interesting wines I tried was the Quevedo Porto 30 year old White Port. Golden-straw in color, aromas of tropical fruits and honeycomb that continued to the palate mingled with notes of toasted spice cake, vanilla oak tones, and sultanas. The alcohol was extremely well-integrated and the sweetness level was rather subdued. I liked the lower level of sugar and the smoothness on the palate. I could have sipped this all night to continue uncovering new subtleties.

Approximately 1000 bottles produced. The importer, based in Utah, is looking for a California distributor. and I hope one materializes Until then, the wine is not available in my local market. So far this wine is stocked by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, but that doesn't help me out.
