Vincent's Sauce

Remag | Apr 1, 201501:42 PM

Just got back from the original Vincent's in NYC. What a disappointment to say the least. The sauce is not the same as the Old sauce, although good it's not the dark tomato paste flavor like the old days. There's only a hint of paste. The hot sauce is ridiculously hot and kills your taste buds. The scungilli were not the Real scungilli but were Whelks which a tough as shoe leather. I also had fried calamari and they were not crispy but rather mushy. Never again. I suggest finding a good neighborhood Italian restaurant. Easier parking and easier on your wallet. The tourists will continue to patronize the place because they may not know better.
