I posted this on the SF board, then thought "I'll bet I could do this at home." Does anyone have a basic recipe? As usual, I'm more interested in the technique than in exact proportion of ingredients. Thanks!

Mangosteen's noodles made me happy and full last night, but the leftovers I just ate today sparked a serious craving for more noodles made in the same style.
For those who haven't been to Mangosteen, their version consists of soft long noodles roughly the shape of spaghetti but much more tender, generous slices of flank steak, plenty of basil, and diced onion. The garlic wasn't visible, but garlic flavor was infused in the whole dish and was very prominent in the dish's fragrance. The menu said lemongrass was used, but I didn't see it or taste too much of it.
