A new Vietnamese restaurant recently opened in the space formerly held by the Twisted Cork in Gartner Plaza, Naperville (Casey's Foods and Trader Joe's are in this plaza). Based on several visits, we highly recommend "Cuisine de Saigon" for their well-prepared food, nice ambiance, and very reasonable prices. A quick assessment of a Vietnamese restaurant can be made on the basis of the Pho they serve, and Saigon delivers: large bowl of flavorful broth with nice meatballs and noodles in it, accompanied by small plate with bean sprouts, basil leaves, and a raw egg to be added to the soup if you like ($9 at dinner).
A light, but tasty vermicelli noodle bowl has carrots, other vegetables and chunks of meat in a delicious sauce (served cold) ($10 at dinner). This past Saturday evening we also had a fragrant and flavorful tilapia baked with fragrant rice roasted in parchment paper - delightful ($14 at dinner).
Cuisine de Saigon is BYOB at present, but may soon get a liquor license. The service - opening bottles to delivering plates is quite professional and cordial. Worth a visit for sure.
Also open for lunch with Pho, pot-au-feu, chicken salad, and other dishes: pork belly sandwich, curry shrimp bread sandwich, pork loin sandwich, BBQ pork chop, etc Lunch menu highest price is $11 for pork chop or "sizzling beef steak on organic salad with rice in mandarin sauce".
