In late June we came back to Steirereck for our third or fourth meal here over the years. As always, amazing services fabulous breads and cheeses and wines and as always we left feeling that we had a lovely dinner. However I was struck by how subtle, to the point of bland, most of the dishes were. That led me to think back about other meals there, to see if I could remember a single dish we had had and loved there. For top restaurants like this I usually have at least one dish I remember years on from the meal. And at Steirereck sadly I realised there isn’t a single one.
This isn’t to say that the food isn’t good, but i don’t think I will be rushing to eat here again I have decided.
