Went to a brand new restaurant called Vida on the corner of Beach and Van Duzer in Stapleton on Friday night. Interesting menu - salads, gourmet sandwiches, and one "blue plate" special per night.
We shared the pate plate, enormous serving, delicous home made terrine served with homemade mustard and cornichons, and little toast rounds ($9). I had the egg salad - don't laugh, it was amazing, with capers and aoili, served on a warm roll. Dad and husband each had the blue plate, which that night was corn cakes topped with slow roasted pork served with pico de gallo. They swooned. Dessert was a pumpkin walnut cheesecake.
There isn't a bar, but the wine list was very nice. A chilean red (Tattoo) was the house wine and I apologize for not being able to rememebr the exact name, but we tried another red, (liberty something?), and it was an awesome chewy, almost port like wine.
The menu looks like it'll change often, with different salads, starters and sandwiches. Walked by this morning and on today's menu was an Italian BLT among other items.
Prices are really reasonable, around $5-6 for the sandwiches, and $12 for the blue plate.
They are obviously just getting started, service was super, super friendly, but maybe a bit too casual. Anyway, the food was delish, and I love being able to support new enterprising restaurants in the neighborhood.
