Went to Victor's on Bronson near Franklin last night. After a couple of visits, my conclusion is that the things they do best are pasta, wine and cappuccino. Instead I had steak which but for some sauce didn't have that much flavor but was tender enough, with an ok salad, and a large baked potato. My wife's grenadines had a nice wine reduction sauce though again the meat itself lacked that snap. The bread was stale. Service is very casual which is fitting for the place. I either got a free piece of blackout cake because the waiter forgot to write it down or because it was my birthday--not sure which. Kind of waiter who brings 3 types of salad dressing to the table because he forgot which one I ordered. I heard whispers of conversations from industry crew types. Then I realized Hal Fishman and one of his producers were sitting behind us with Hal getting charged up about covering the Cajon Pass fire. He seemed like a regular. His right foot was in a cast. All in all a quiet evening out with our 8 week old daughter.
