I don't see much about the more expensive places like Vetri on the board but nonetheless, I was there the other night and did the 7 course chef's menu. I really felt more like I was at a French restaurant rather than Italian primarily due to the mini portion sizes and "food styling". It was closer to 7 bites rather than 7 courses. While the food was very good, I expect when I go to places at Vetri's price point that the food be "to die for" and it just isn't. While the wine list has a broad array of fine Italian wines, the prices are really steep. Oh well, I guess my palate has nothing in common with Craig LeBan's.
