Venice for (almost) 24 hours! Please help me choose wisely

lynnalan | Apr 8, 201903:39 PM     4

We arrive on our international flight at 11 am and will get to our hotel (Charming House DD724 in Dorsudoro) as quickly as possible. Assuming all goes smoothly, I am hoping that we can have a light lunch, and possibly chiccheti with a glass of wine around 5-6 then a late(ish) dinner. We will be picking up a car the next morning and heading out of town.

The places that have risen to the top of my list are Osteria Alla Testiere, Vini da Gigio and Estro (Al Covo is also in the running for dinner). I am having a hard time finding much intel on Estro but I like what I read. Besides good food, I am looking for a place with character, charming hosts, friendly service that is not too formal. We like seafood.

I think Testiere would probably be my first choice for dinner though if I understand correctly dinner is either 7:30 or 9:30 and neither is ideal.

Can anyone weigh in with a plan?

I know we are short changing Venice but the purpose of the trip is to visit our daughter who is studying abroad. Thanks in advance for any input!
