Vancouver - ISO early morning brekkies, great coffee and kid-friendly spots

Hi all - this Toronto CH is very excited to be returning to the left coast for a family trip. Given the time difference, I'm preparing myself for early wake-ups from our toddlers. We're staying in the Southlands area. Any good brekkie spots within a 10 or 15 minute drive that open at 7 or 7:30?

On a similar note, I've armed myself with the oft-quoted list for great americanos/lattes - 49th Parallel, Elysian, Wicked and JJ Bean. I think these all open around 7 am - do any have cooked food beyond baked goods? Is there anywhere else closer to where I'll be staying that's great? I remember there used to be a Cafe Artigiano in Kerrisdale, maybe on 41st - is that still an Artigiano outpost?

I'm a big Guu with Garlic fan (anxiously awaiting the Toronto expansion of the Guu empire) so I'm hoping to get a dinner in there. I've also heard great things about Kingyo. If we head out for a 5:30 dinner, would these be comfortable spots to bring our kids? Any other spots near Southlands that you'd recommend (not necessarily izakaya)?

Many thanks!!
