Anniversary last night and we decided to celebrate at Valette in Healdsburg. It has received a lot of good press and based on our dinner last night, deservedly so.

We had decided earlier to get the tasting menu and enjoyed a glass of French sparkling wine while looking at the menu. The tasting menu here is unique, we went for 5 courses. The first course Furikake Crusted Hawaiian Ahi was the same (and delicious) for both of us. The next 4 courses was different for each of us. As the portions were easily large enough to share, we actually wound up with a 9 course tasting menu. The best part, each course was layered with flavors and a beautiful presentation.

I won't go into great detail of the rest of the tasting menu but here is what we had.
1) Roasted Carrot + Ginger Soup
2) House Made Semolina Pasta
3) Crispy Skin Sea Bass
4) Pancetta Crusted Alaskan Halibut
5) American Kobe New York Steak
6) Smoked Lamb ‘Bacon’
7) Bread, Butter and Jam Salted Brown Butter Ice Cream, Preston’s Loganberry Jam – Toasted Brioche.
8) ‘The Chocolate Bloc’,Carmella Chocolate Mousse Crispy Cocoa – Organic Egg Meringue – Sea Salt.

You can check their website for more detail but each course was delicious. Chef Dustin has hit the ground running and is turning out some seriously good food.

Service matched the excellent food, water constantly refilled and courses were spaced out perfectly. Valette is a great new addition to Healdsburg.
Valette has an extensive wine list, we brought our own wine (Ceritas Pinot Noir). If you go that route corkage is $20.00.
Valette was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary.
