Uphill/downhill pizza alert (B'cliff/Ossining)

Hi there, I'm the one who moved to Briarcliff Manor from Fleetwood and I have been enjoying all of your recommendations. However I just have to say that Ossining Pizzeria (which some of you said was one of the best nearby) was very disappointing as was their gelato. The pizza was too doughy and had too little marinara sauce. The gelato was more like ice milk.

None of you raved about Dom & Vinny's Pizzeria in Briarcliff but we were quite impressed! Thin crust, expertly done toppings etc.

For both pizzas we got a large pie with half mushrooms and half sausage/pepper. Ossining mushroom toppings were fine--they were fresh--but there was barely any sausage and it had huge chunks of green pepper, partly raw, ugh. Dom & Vinny's peppers were nice thin strips of red and green and the sausage was a good amount. It had delicious marinara sauce and crust, too.

The gelatos we tried were blueberry (ok), pistachio (blah) vanilla (downright wierd) and chocolate-hazelnut (pretty good).

My point is not that I am right and you are wrong but perhaps Ossining Pizzeria and Gelateria has gone downhill and Dom & Vinny's has gone uphill???

Just letting you all know! :-)
