I'm surprising my husband for his 30th birthday with a trip to San Diego and am trying to pick a few restaurants in advance so we are not wandering around. Can you (locals or previous vacationers) tell me what you think of some of my choices. I've used this board and a few other sources:
(We're staying in La Jolla, but I'm renting a car)
Sushi: Sammy Sushi or Sushi Ota (haven't decided...just depends where we'll be)
Thai: Celedon, Kitima or Rama
Breakfast places: Brockton Villa and Hash House
Birthday dinner: Haven't decided, but it's probably between George's on the Cove or Sante Ristorante
Chinese: China Max
Random: Sadaff for lunch
Mexican: Haven't decided because a lot of reviews say to stay away from Old Town, but possibly El Indio
Fish Tacos: My husband really likes these, but not the fried fish ones. Where are good non-fried tacos?
Thanks for any suggestions!
