So, I finally was able to make reservations for this Saturday as my birthday dinner. My husband and I are very eagerly looking forward to this meal. We intend to eat way too much. We have a gift certificate to help out - my intention is to over order so we can have leftovers for Sunday LOL.
Having read a ton of info on it here already, I'm confident about my choices however, my husband, although quite the food lover, is not as adventurous as I.
For instance, you'd NEVER see him eating the lamb's tongue. Just isn't going to happen. Or any organ meat. To complicate matters he does not eat any seafood at all ever unless it's a tunafish sandwich. I know this makes him sound very picky - but it isn't as bad as it sounds written down. Yes, it does limit choices but he always manages to find several choices to his liking. He might try things from my plate, out of curiousity, but wouldn't order them himself.
Ok, so what appetizers/entrees might be good choices for him? I know there are certain ones which are quite stellar in comparison to others on the menu. He's big on pastas, dishes with hearty grains and interesting vegetable preparations. Chicken, pork, beef are fine too. Duck is a possibility depending on preparation (he loves the duck tamales as Mesa Grill). Really loves bold spicy flavors.
Are there any particular choices which stand out in that category?
Thanks! I appreciate the advice of all of you who have already been there!
