After my post about USC last Thursday (food that didn't match expectations, wrong name on the b-day boy's dessert plate) and a phone call to the manager of USC about the dessert incident, I got a call from the manager last Friday. The manager told me that he had listened to my voicemail and read my post on chowhound (he confessed to being a habitual reader of this board). He then apologized for the fact that my occasion dinner at USC had been anything less than special and asked what would make me feel better about the experience. I stammered, not really ever having been in this situation and not knowing what I could reasonably ask for. The manager then proposed a gift certificate for another night at USC, which I have accepted.
Whatever can be said about USC, with that level of service and attention to detail, I can see why people go back! I will report again after my next visit to USC.
