Your typical bag of perilla seeds from the Korean grocery store?

Recently, I spotted such a bag and got it on a whim, hoping to be able to plant some of the seeds, while figuring out on how to use the rest of them in cooking later on. I love shiso plants and could never get enough of them.

However, I just had a taste test of those seeds and by the crunch and taste of it (not that I know how perilla seeds should taste like), it appeared that they might have been toasted.

I am not knowledgable at all in Korean cooking and its food ingredients. Does anyone have any idea if the typical bag of perilla seeds found at the Korean grocery store is toasted or not?
