I purchased a large block of what looks like turnip cake from a vendor in Chinatown today. It's about an inch and a half high and frecked with purple bits. It was cut much larger than I needed despite my pleas to halve the order but that's another story.
So other than deep frying it what can be done with it? I put a slice of it in a non-stick pan and browned it on both sides and it was delicious like that.
How long will it last in the fridge? What is the other variety made of that doesn't have purple flecks.
