My husband and I recently returned from a trip to Helsinki, where we ate a restaurant that served what they called "turnip bread."
It wasn't really what I would consider "bread" - rather, it seemd like a really thick, starchy custard that might have been cooked in an iron pan or something, and it was buttery and had some slight charring on the top... does anyone know how I can recreate this at home? It would be great to find a way to use up turnips.
I tried to search online, but only found recipes alluding to the middle ages, which I thought was a bad omen... :)
