Turkish Kitchen in Berkeley - Do Not Recommend

The deli counter looked fantastic. The place smelled good. There were beautiful murals on the walls and ceiling.

I tried the Kisir (Bulgur mixed with lettuce, green onion, cucumber, parsley, spices, lemon juice and olive oil) $3.50 It tasted so sour and vinegary I couldn't eat more than one spoonful.

Okay, I thought. Maybe I don't like it. I'll try some falafel. It's fresh out of the fryer. What a disappointment. It had a bland taste and a mealy texture.

Well, I thought, there's dessert. The cashier had said everything is homemade. Must taste good, I thought. Wrong. The Baklava $3.75 was mushy and had a funny taste. The Kadayif (Shredded phylo dough with walnuts and syrup) $3.50 didn't fare much better. It also was mushy and had a funny taste.

I walked out disappointed. I don't recommend this place.
