I made a popular recipe- turkey breast in a crockpot with a can of cranberry sauce and an envelope of onion soup mix-the recipe states not to defrost the breast. This is my first time making it and didn't realize that the breast I bought had a plastic bag with gravy inside the cavity. I was told it would be quick to remove the bag if I ran water around the seams. It wasn't! Has anybody experienced this? The reason I made this recipe is because I like "sweet", am frugal and environmentally conscious - crockpots are energy efficient.

I would like a recipe using a defrosted turkey breast in the crockpot in the event I make this again and it only comes with the packaged gravy. Thanks!
