Help! We live in Tucson, so this is a bit embarassing, but what the hey, it's about fish. Here's the problem: We have a very decent standard sushi place (Sachiko, Wilmot and Speedway, conveniently close to a Trader Joe's) that we hit every Friday. Or we did so until a friends started taking us to their favorite joint, Housenka, at Ft. Lowell and Campbell. Miso soup, not quite as good, wasabi not quite as zippy, benches uncomfortable, lighting awful, but ohmigod, the fish! Hamachi hand rolls like big icecream cones, white tuna sashimi laced with garlic and the fish bowl of the gods. So, we alternated happily between the two until the snappy Korean goddess who ran Housenka single-handed sold it! Just sold it overnight to a guy who puts mayonnaise on EVERYTHING! So we are now partial sushi-ronin, without the heart or will to drag our grief-stricken, middle-aged asses around to the many, constantly appearing sushi places around town.
So, finally, here's my plea -- can anyone recommend a place in Tuk-son other than Sachiko?
