Tsuki - sushi on UES

Hi folks,

Last night had a great sushi dinner at Tsuki, on 1st ave and 75th st. I've been there a few times in the the last couple months, and each time my wife and had a great meal.

It's a pretty small, non-descript place right next to Tar Bar. Each time we've gone the mix of patrons has been about half Japanese folks and half everything else. The fish is very, very fresh and they turn out some excellent creations I have not encountered at other places, including a very tasty rock shrimp roll. The sushi-sashimi combo for two ($45) far surpases any combo I've had anywhere else. Last night it had the standards (tuna, salmon), plus toro, some slices of yellowtail that tasted like a cross between yellowtail & toro - just melt in your mouth.

I think it is a family operation. The service can be slow, though last night they made up for it by giving us an extra oyster (we had ordered two kumamoto's) as well as a very tasty plum wine (not the cheap chinese reataurant kind) with dessert.

Anyway, we've had great experiences there, they seem like very good people, so worth a shot if you're in the hood.
