Hello fellow CH'ers,
First I would like to thank everyone that helped me plan this trip. Your advice was invaluable and helped make this among my best gastronomic trips. My reviews will be short because my memory isn't great and quite frankly I am a poor writer. But I hope what I put together will help anyone else planning a visit to one of my favorite cities in the world.
Quick hits before beginning the reviews:
Purple Pig: Some excellent, simple dishes with a lot of unexpected complexity
Next: Unfortunately disappointing, but the forest dish was probably number one or two of the most memorable dishes I have ever had.
Doughnut Vault: Doughnuts. Nuff said.
Blackbird: A nice meal.
Schwa: Amazing. I envy whoever lands a reservation when Chef Carlson decides to cook the badass mountain of Kobe he paraded around the room.
Xoco: Maybe I picked the wrong plates...
Cafe Spiaggia: Ditto
L2O: Michelin must be crazy since this was perhaps my favorite all-around dinner.
