So, heading to Milan and Venice in May with my mom. Have started planning it as places are starting to take reservations. We are spending 3 nights in Milan followed by 3 nights in Venice. I have not been to either, but I thought I would do my trip planning here and also do a trip report after.
For Milan, the plan is as follows:
Day 1 - Arrive around noon, Staying in Navigli, so will hang around in that area and explore. Grab something light for a late lunch, then dinner at El Brellin.
Day 2 - Really thinking about starting out the day at the Sforza Castle. Afternoon will be shopping in and around Galleria Vittorio. Thinking dinner at either Trippa or Ratana. Both look fascinating to me.
Day 3 - This is a long day. We start out with the Last Supper Tour and the Duomo. We booked through Walks of Italy as booking directly with the ticket outlet for the Last Supper was an absolute nightmare (I tried for a while around 3:30 in the morning when tickets went on sale. The website is a nightmare). I thought we might do lunch at L’Antico Ristorante Boeucc. That afternoon, I want to take in more churches and the Da Vinci Vineyards. Then we have to go back and get ready. We have tickets for La Scala at 8 PM for Idomeneo.
Day 4 - Train to Venice, in Venice by lunch. Figured we would just tool around Venice. for a while. Really have no plans whatsoever yet.
Day 5 - Venice, No Dedicated Plans
Day 6 - Have Tickets to Aida at La Fenice.
Day 7 - Fly Home.
Still a lot of things up in the air. Have a number of restaurants in Venice we are looking into, but Sunday, Monday, and Tuesdays are not the most popular of days. Once more is planned out, will keep updating here.
