Had a lovely dinner this week with two dining companions at Tre Scalini. We had a 6:00 reservation and were greeted warmly and seated right away. Our two bottles of wine were opened and served.
I had the black pasta with shrimp and crab. HUGE piece of crab and 3 extra large shrimp. The sauce was garlicly and had a delicious olive oil undertone in addition to large chunks of tomato. Dining companion1 had a Caesar salad which appeared good as well as Tilapia in a butter/caper sauce. Dining companion2 had a Polenta and Broccoli Rabe app. that was amazing and a pasta dish that I don't recall. I ordered hot tea because I was a little under the weather and they were quick to replenish my empty cup with a new one.
The downstairs filled up quickly but noise was reasonable. The decor is nothing to write home about but certainly comfortable. Total bill with tip was just under $100 for the three of us. Overall, a wonderful dinner and a place I would highly recommend.
