I'm a semi-lurker on the Toronto Chowhound boards, but for the last two weeks in October I will be in Tokyo on business. It's my first time to Japan. I'll be staying Saturday-Saturday, and will be working normal hours (~8:30-6 I'm guessing) on weekdays, so I'll have 3 weekend days plus evenings to go out and do stuff. I'm looking forward to trying anything and everything I can get my hands (or mouth) on, but I have no idea where to start.
I'll be staying at the ANA Hotel Tokyo in Akasaka, Minato-ku, so that will be my starting point for most food journeys.
I'll have a decent, but not extravagant, per diem, but I should be able to do a couple highish-end meals. However, I'm sure there are a lot of great cheap- to average-priced eats out there too.
I'm open to pretty much everything, although my knowledge of Japanese cuisine is somewhat limited at this point. Help me out Chowhounders!
