Tramontina Deep Fryer: Anyone Tried This?

Libranflight | Oct 22, 201708:06 PM     15

Anyone used this? It seems very versatile and inexpensive, and somehow has rivets on the outside, but not on the inside. I like not having rivets inside pots.

I was asking questions on Amazon and was told the basket had small enough holes to contain spaghetti noodles. I don't care about that but somebody might, so I asked.

I like that it has a custom splatter screen AND a glass lid and that you could do a lot more than deep fry in this.

All of the reviews I can find are positive.

I guess the silicone handle cover is removable and the basket has a hanging clip to drain over the pot.

Users say it does an amazing job deep frying. I am wondering about the nonstick coating, I have never had any Tramontina pots or pans, so I don't know how good their coatings are. It seems weird to have nonstick coating in a deep fry pot but I guess they wouldn't put it there if it could not handle hot oil.

Reviewers say it comes to heat fast and fries wonderfully. I have had issues in the past, with oil really bonding to the surface of my pots while deep frying, and sometimes it has been really hard to remove it. I am thinking maybe the coating will prevent that???

I have no idea how thick the aluminum is, but I always seem to like a brushed finish, which this appears to have. I am assuming it must be significantly thick, if called their professional line for restaurant use.

If anyone has any input about this pot or other pots or pans in this line, please share your opinions. I ran across it in a search for a deep fryer. I believe I could do better on gas than with a plug-in model and was thinking this one would be easier to clean as well, but do no know for sure. Maybe someone has opinions on that part of it, also.

Thanks in advance for any input.
