A tragedy. My daughter threw away...

...My green plastic coffee scoop, from one of the last cans of Chock Full O'Nuts in which I remember finding a scoop. So, yes, I should've stopped just once and figured out exactly how much that scoop held. I should've found a backup.

But it was so funny this afternoon to realize that for as long as I've used that scoop, every single thing I use regularly in my kitchen has been replaced at least once, mostly twice, as our income has trended upwards. Coffeepots, cookware, potato masher thingy... Sure, there are heirloom items I received when my grandmother passed away, but that was about 13 years ago. But daily, for longer than my oldest child has been alive, I've grabbed that green scoop.

I've decided it would be too harsh to make her dumpster dive. But I won't lie, I thought about it.

RIP, at least 18yo Chock Full O Nuts coffee scoop. You will be missed. I'm sorry we didn't recycle, but I think it's fair to say you've done your job well, my old friend.

(Also, someone please tell me they still include coffee scoops, and I will track down a can immediately!)
