Tower Burger

Janet A. Zimmerman | Mar 6, 200212:54 AM

It's been a while since I've read about any "new" burger places, and I'm wondering in anyone else has tried Tower Burger up on Portola near Tower Market. Niman Ranch meat, grilled, on regular soft buns (no bread or baguette for me, thanks anyway) with a variety of toppings. And at extremely reasonable prices -- I think the highest price is $5.75 for the Tower special with bacon, cheese, grilled onions and all the usual condiments. It's $1 extra for fries, $1.50 for onion rings. The fries are not the greatest I've ever had, but pretty good. The onion rings are also not my favorite style -- they're the thick battered type -- but for the style, they're quite good. Ah, but the burgers...

Until I tried Tower, my choice on that side of the city was Bulls Head in West Portal, which I still like, but parking there is difficult, and the fries are awful, and the prices are much higher, so my new choice is Tower.
