It was chaotic... but damn yummy. the room is fairly unimpressive, a big open room with a bar at one end. they have a good tequila selection, and while it wasnt ready when i went, the bartender said they would have a cool drink list.
now for the chow: first of all they gave me some cheese dip on the house because i requested the queso con chorizo which they didnt have. this dip was, while sliiightly "chainy" still very good and far superior to velvet cantina's. the salsa was fresh and pretty good, but not spicy enough. i commented to the owner about it and he said "hold on a sec, we have something for people like you" apparently they make a house made habenero sauce fresh every day. add some to the salsa and... very good salsa.
i had the chicken blue corn enchilladas with verde. the verde was spot on, very very good verde. i added some of the trusty habenero sauce and enjoyed this plate immensely.
friend had 2 fish tacos, he said they came out a little cold but they were very good nonetheless.
the menu is nice in that they have a good selection of apps, salads and entrees, but have a more traditional, and mission taqueria price-point a la carte menu. torta, quesadillas, burritos and tacos.
all in all i thought it was good, fresh, and very chaotic as apprently they werent expecting nearly as many people as they had for their soft opening. i will definitely be going back considering its near where i live.
oh... total bill came to 12.50 with a beer. the owner gave us half off the whole bill because the fish tacos were a little cold.
