Located at 11040 Ventura Blvd. just west of Vineland, in the same strip mall as Re$iduals and that rock'n'roll sushi place. 818-760-2571. Had Saturday lunch there for the second time, the first time was a few months back. I had the torta al pastor and my husband had the torta asada. The roll is perhaps not as good as others we have had, particularly at Grand Central Market and Gallo Giro, but the fillings were nicely done and the sandwich was pretty large. The avocado is in hunks rather than spread on the roll. The al pastor was tender, perhaps an oxymoron for al pastor, and nicely spiced although I would have preferred it a bit spicier. Nice pieces of pickled jalapenos were atop. I didn't taste the asada but my husband scarfed it down. The tortas come with hot, freshly fried chips of the type that seem to break into layers of corn tortilla, yum. There is a salsa bar also. The tortas range from $4.25 for al pastor, asada, carnitas, chorizo, etc. to $5.10 for milanesa. They also have tacos at mostly $1.90 per with the option of a homemade corn tortilla for an extra $.25. Burritos, enchiladas, combo plates, etc. are also available, as well as tamales including pork, chicken, rajas and dulce which I think was pineapple. They have breakfast all day including chilaquiles. They also have over 15 flavors of milkshakes (!), and champurrado in the winter. This place is probably more expensive than what you can get on the eastside, but for Studio City it's not bad and the food has not been disappointing. They deliver with a $15 minimum, from 11am to 2pm and 5pm to 9pm, the delivery phone is (818) 766-7888, I'm sure they'd fax a menu.
