I'm a NYer visiting Chicago for the first time in March. I have reservations for Alinea on a Friday at 6:15pm. I tried getting Topolobampo reservations for dinner on Saturday, but all are left are late seatings (post 9pm), which I'm not really in the mood to do. And I'm definitely doing Alinea on Friday.
However, there are a lot of open seatings for Topolobampo at lunch on Friday. Is going to Topolobampo for lunch (say a 11:30 AM or noon seating) and then Alinea at 6:15pm too much? I totally understand it's about not overeating/ordering at Topolobampo, but I'm curious to hear Chicago hounds' opinions.
