Top food restaurants in SD w/ Wine considerations ... PLEASE HELP.

I've done a little searching and poking around, and saw a few things, but really could use some help from our fellow 'hounds.

My wife and I just got a last minute getaway trip for next weekend with another couple (cousins) to SD from LA. This is the other couples' first getaway since having a new baby just 4 months ago, and weekend babysitters are a bit rare for my wife and I as well, so we want the weekend to be very special. Trying to make it a food, golf, spa, wine extravaganza.

We are staying on Coronado (at the Marriott - old Meridien - the Del was sold out...), but have no problem driving a bit.

The big dinner will be on Saturday night, and we're looking for the best possible food experience. I am an avid wine collector, so will be bringing several very top flight bottles with me, so a place that has corkage options (willing to pay up to $50 for corkage) is somewhat important. We will make sure to bring something that is not on the wine list already, and will also definitely buy something (white or bubbly) from the restautant as well.

So given all that, which place has the best food in the area? Ideally, I'd like to keep the prices no higher than $100-$150 per person for food only. So seriously, what is the best high end place in town?

Thanks very much in advance for your help. I will definitely post a review after our trip.
