Has anyone been to this japanese restaurant in Burlingame? My friend insisted that it was very good, and so we went.
FIrst, I dont' want to sound snobby, but I saw all these taiwanese waitress in a japanese restaurant, i was already quite turned off.
I ordered some nigiri, (they dont' have alot of items that I wanted, like mirugai, amoebi, kanpi, etc- and she commented that they only serve "usual items"---- i'm sorry, but amoebi is very usual....)
I also ordered an order ot age dashi tofu, and when the order came, I cannot believe what they are serving me. They have these dice-size fried tofu, and a bowl of dipping sauce. IT's nothing like what I'm used to, I'm used to having a regular size tofu, with minced ginger/green onions. on top, bonito flakes, etc. And I stared at this dish and just wondered what the...?? maybe it's taiwanese style???
I did not like this restaurant at all.
Next time, I'm going back to Sakae.
