Tommaso's in Bensonhurst

always hungry | Feb 26, 2006 10:40 PM

Just rolled in the door from Carnivale at Tomasso's in Bensonhurst. Although they seem to have cut back on the singing, the food was the best of any year. It's $35 per person. Two minutes after you sit down the antipasta starts. You don't order it, it just comes. In waves, and waves. Calamari, mozzarella, lentils and pigskin, etc., etc., just to name a few. You're stuffed when they finally hand you a menu. Pasta y carne y dolce. Pick one of four of each. The lasagna is THE BEST EVER. Then we had the braised pork. Loosen the belt now, time for dessert! Get the sanguinacchio and brag at work that you had chocolate blood pudding last night. Oh yeah, ask for the big wine list. 1989 Scavino barolos for $20 over retail ( as if you could even buy that at a store ), ten year old Cote Roties for $90 !!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't worry, you ate so much you couldn't possibly get drunk.

Start planning to go back next year....
