A few years ago, I had a tofu dish at Joe's Shanghai in Chinatown. The tofu was served in a flat loaf (about 1.5 inches thick) and it was cooked until it had a somewhat hardened dark brown crust all around it. Just delicious!! It was served over spinach. I went to Joe's in Flushing this weekend and they made something for me but it was not close.
Any thoughts appreciated?
