Savory recipes only please.
I have 2 lbs of firm in my fridge. I'm looking for an alternate to the way I've been cooking it for years, although I still find the tried and true to be delicious.
What we have been doing:
Cut into strips and press out the water. Marinate for a couple of days in some mixture of soy, rice vinegar, miso, sesame oil, mirin, etc, then drain and broil. Once broiled, we eat it straight, or put it into fried rices, stir fries, toss it with rice noodles and some type of asian-style sauce. I think the original inspiration for this preparation was one of Jimmy McNair's cookbooks, a recipe for tofu and scallion skewers, which was delicious and beautiful.
Do you have any other ideas? Thanks!
