A friend and I recently went to TOC in the Lower East Side, on Clinton Street. I must say, we were both quite disappointed. We ordered the summer rolls, tom yum soup, pad thai and green curry with chicken. The skins of the summer rolls were hard and the soup was just sour, not spicy. The chicken and vegetables in the green curry must have been cooking for a long time because the vegetables were mushy and the chicken was tough. The only passable dish was the pad thai, which had a little smokey flavor to it.
I just moved here from San Francisco and have found the Thai restaurants here to be lack-luster. Can anyone explain this?
