TN: 2010 Maximillian Beerbohmhaus Garlander Noel
I was able to assemble a few wine lovers for an extensive symposium, only requesting of the participants that they leave written notes. Some emailed theirs afterwards.

Taster 1
This estate has gone from strength to strength since bringing in star consultant Michel Rolland and the blockbuster Garlander Noel 2009 is no exception. With a nose framed in expensive new oak and a finish that lasts 48.2 seconds it is destined to be a controversial wine among the billionaires of tomorrow due to its notions of filthy lucre. Kudos to MB for blasting another knock out homer. By the way I tried a barrel sample next years fantastic Garlarnder which represents a highly theoretical blend of 1987 Chateau Cantemerle and 2002 Rayas.

Years ago the old Max and his heir stood me a dinner of pike in vinegar aspic and cabbage consume. I remarked how consistently the GN, over its life tracks the aromas of the meal, the nervosity of the aspic in its youth, and cabbage soup as it ages. “Yes”, the elder quipped and we all laughed. A gala to cherish and such chaps!

Color: deep emerald. Nose: cloud berry. Palate: with aeration subdued blood orange and better aspects of tinned wax beans.
Quite decent to decent minus

Nose redolent of buddleia, lemon blossom, quince, kaffir lime, alfonso mango, chicken broth, rubbed tomato stems, galangal, sandalwood powder, ash ashes, green apple, roasted celery root, perfecto cigar tobacco, aged bees wax, tangerine, pink grapefruit pith, dried rose pestles, snap pea, juniper berry, roast meats, saffron, fresh ground Yemen moka java, melting road tar, pickling spices, tarragon, Tahitian vanilla, newish saddle leather, Nice olive, wet birch bark, and moistened rattan.
The aromas repeat on the palate.

Striking coaco torrafaction hints, then high toned aromas of Ludens Cough Drops. The steel strong violet component giving great floral lift to the strong acid spine. Rather brittle on the back end. I’d give this sexy puppy some time before pulling the cork.

Strong acrid valerian stink that just misses the gag reflex. Spiting is a must. I’d pair it with Spaghetti Bolognese or grilled meats.

As close to perfection as never mind. Now it is a graceful masterpiece and in the future only more will come. Their work defines grip for a new generation. I thought the 1922 GN was a spot on one off but now here is the 2010 vibrant in its noble restraint.
For the former colonials who require caveats, I would add that My company has bought this estate last year.

8 and 9 our mascots the young twins

a) OMG so scrumptious!!!! Really Yumm
b) After a sip I knew you’ll Jonz for this babe. I could use this shit as perfume!!!!

Finally the effects of the change to Goyt training (Phahlbau all the way!), the switch to 2200 vines per hectare planting density, and the move to clone 742 on Texas X2711 root stock (an inspired choice and a combination that will be copied) has made effective canopy management possible. All this and employing 10% M. Toussand new barrels for the first three months then a careful reductive pumping toThierry Despondant # 17 medium char beauties for the rest of the elevage. A lesson for all.
