TN: 2009 Black Kite Pinot Noir Angel Hawk Reserve

dinwiddie | Aug 31, 201211:50 AM     9

While dining at Ravens', a vegetarian restaurant on the Mendocino Coast, the server recommended the Black Kite Angel Hawk. The bottle was selling for $75 on the list and I decided to take a chance. Turned out to be good idea. Beautiful dark garnet color, impressive nose with hints of black cherry and some spies. Very focused and well structured. Lots of of dark fruit.black cherry, blackberry and a little black currant. Wonderful hints of chocolate, cedar and licorice, especially on the mid palate. Long, long finish. It was so good I asked the restaurant where I could get it. They sold me the last two bottles from their cellar.
