There was a fun TJ thread recently that inspired me to try out everyone's recommendations. Thanks to all for their suggestions.
I tried to be a good poster and searched everywhere but cannot find who recommended TJ's Cuban Mojito. I bought it and am now wondering what to do with it.
Also bought The Spice Hunter Mulling Spices--claims you can simmer it with cider or wine. Has anyone actually tried it in wine? Seems kind of sacrilege to throw cinnamon, allspice and cloves into good wine and life is too short to buy bad wine but I'll try almost anything recommended by a fellow Chowhound.
Discovered a decent wine in San Francisco Bay area TJ: Sandy Creek 2002 Reserve Napa Chardonnay for $5.99.
A new favorite: Dorot Crushed Garlic Cloves (20 cloves: $1.89)--frozen in what looks like a mini ice cube tray. Just pop out what you need. They also have chopped basil packaged the same way.
